Question 1

How do I choose the right pillow for my sleep position?

Accepted Answer

Side sleepers generally benefit from a higher-loft, firmer pillow to fill the space between the ear and shoulder. Back sleepers often prefer medium loft, and stomach sleepers typically do best with a low-loft, softer pillow. See our pillow guide for more detail.

Question 2

What is the difference between memory foam, down, and latex pillows?

Accepted Answer

Memory foam pillows contour closely to the head and neck. Down pillows are soft and compressible with a plush feel. Latex pillows are responsive and durable, with a slightly bouncier feel than memory foam.

Question 3

How often should I replace my pillow?

Accepted Answer

Pillows gradually lose their support and loft over time. If a pillow feels flat, lumpy, or no longer supports your neck comfortably, it is likely time to consider a replacement.

Question 4

Can I wash my pillow at home?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the fill material and manufacturer care instructions. Some pillows are machine washable, while others, such as certain memory foam pillows, should only be spot cleaned. Always check the care label for a specific pillow.

Question 5

What thread count should I look for in sheets?

Accepted Answer

Thread count is one factor in sheet feel, but it is not the only indicator of quality. Fiber type, weave, and finishing also affect softness and durability, so it is worth considering the full fabric description, not thread count alone.

Question 6

What is the difference between cotton, bamboo, and microfiber sheets?

Accepted Answer

Cotton sheets are breathable and widely available in a range of weaves. Bamboo-derived sheets are often prized for softness and moisture-wicking. Microfiber sheets are generally affordable and wrinkle-resistant. Our linen care guide covers each material in more detail.

Question 7

How do I know what size sheets to buy?

Accepted Answer

Sheet sizing should match your mattress size, such as twin, full, queen, king, or California king, and you should also check the fitted sheet’s pocket depth against your mattress height.

Question 8

How should I wash different types of linens?

Accepted Answer

Washing instructions vary by fabric: cotton generally tolerates warm machine washing, while delicate fabrics like silk may need cold water and a gentle cycle. See our full guide on caring for different types of linens for specifics.

Question 9

How often should I wash my bedding?

Accepted Answer

Sheets and pillowcases are commonly washed roughly every one to two weeks, though personal preference and circumstances may call for more frequent washing.

Question 10

Do pillows and linens come with a guarantee?

Accepted Answer

Our 120-Night Comfort Guarantee and Returns Policy describe our general approach to comfort and returns; specific terms for pillows and linens are confirmed at the time of your order.

Question 11

What is a duvet versus a comforter?

Accepted Answer

A comforter is a single quilted piece used on its own, while a duvet is typically a plain insert placed inside a removable, washable duvet cover.

Question 12

How do I prevent pillows from going flat?

Accepted Answer

Fluffing pillows regularly, using a breathable pillow protector, and occasionally airing them out can help maintain loft for longer, though all pillows will eventually need replacement.
